“British Airways Pilots Incapacitated by Food Poisoning on Flight”

British Airways pilots experienced food poisoning after a layover, with one pilot becoming incapacitated. They had stopped in India before heading to the UK and shared a meal at a hotel in Hyderabad, along with bottled water purchased from an outside vendor.

During the 10.5-hour flight to London Heathrow, one pilot fell ill and required oxygen at 30,000 feet, while the other two pilots also developed symptoms upon landing in the UK. British Airways assured that passenger safety was not compromised, despite concerns raised by the pilots’ union about hygiene at the hotel.

The affected pilots reported their illnesses, providing samples for investigation. British Airways is now evaluating alternative accommodations in Hyderabad. The airline emphasized the well-being of its crew members and stated that an internal inquiry had been initiated to ensure the safety of passengers and crew throughout the flight.
