A 10-year-old boy is facing charges of attempted murder and rape for an alleged assault on a woman while she was jogging in a park in France. The incident took place at Gouëdic Valley park in Saint-Brieuc, Brittany.
The woman was reportedly accosted by the child, who demanded that she undress. When she refused, he allegedly stabbed her in the arm and abdomen before fleeing the scene. Nearly a week later, the police apprehended a suspect matching the victim’s description.
Investigators recovered a knife believed to be used in the attack and clothing matching the victim’s account. Although official documents state the suspect is 10 years old, medical examinations suggest he may be at least 14. The prosecutor declined to speculate on the boy’s age, emphasizing that the provided documents indicate he is 10.
The suspect, who arrived from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, a year ago to live with his father, confessed to the assault during police interrogation.
