Canada’s Sophia Jensen secured her inaugural world title at the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World Championships held in Poznań, Poland. The 24-year-old athlete, hailing from Chelsea, Que., clinched the gold medal in the women’s C1 500-meter final. Another Canadian, Brianna Hennessy from Ottawa, also shone by capturing the bronze in the KL1 women’s 200m final on the same day.
