World’s top-ranked tennis player and Wimbledon winner, Jannik Sinner, has decided to pull out of the U.S. Open tournament. Sinner expressed his disappointment in a recent statement, citing ongoing recovery needs for a right knee injury as the reason for his withdrawal. Despite efforts from his team and medical support, Sinner concluded that more time is required for his knee to heal adequately.
Expressing sadness over missing the prestigious event, Sinner mentioned his fondness for New York and the unique energy of the tournament. His last match was on July 12 when he clinched his second Wimbledon title by defeating Alexander Zverev.
