Prince Harry and Meghan recently took their children on a discreet trip to Scotland while visiting the UK. Instead of heading to the royal estate of Balmoral, the couple reportedly visited Tanera Mor, a remote island owned by wealthy hedge fund manager Ian Wace. Wace purchased the almost-deserted 800-acre island in 2017 for £1.7 million and invested £100 million to revamp it.
The island, which is said to have inspired the 1973 film “The Wicker Man,” now boasts restored buildings and a rejuvenated natural landscape. The Taigh Mor Foundation on the island accommodates approximately 500 guests annually, including individuals from the Police and Armed Forces, who seek the island’s serene and restorative ambiance.
Ian Wace, a friend of Harry’s, along with his wife Saffron Aldridge, has been connected with the Duke and Duchess since attending a Cirque du Soleil performance at the Royal Albert Hall in 2019. The Daily Mail revealed that Harry had previously visited the island, where guests engage in activities like building restoration, mackerel fishing, and culinary and gardening tasks.
Representatives for both the Sussexes and Ian Wace declined to provide comments to the media. The news of the alleged visit coincided with Meghan’s recent Instagram post, offering a glimpse into the family’s UK trip, including visits to Althorp, the Spencer family home, and a Scottish Highlands location featuring a vast loch.
Additionally, the photos shared by Meghan depicted the family enjoying leisure time at the beach and in a swimming pool in Portugal before heading to the UK. The Sussexes reportedly own a holiday home on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, near Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s residence.
Meghan’s Instagram post also included a snapshot of a fish restaurant in Portugal and captured moments of the family relaxing by a pool. Notably, the images intentionally concealed the faces of Archie and Lilibet to safeguard their privacy.
The series of pictures did not include images from the Sussexes’ reunion with the King and Queen at Highgrove two weeks prior. This visit marked the children’s first encounter with their grandfather in four years, as security concerns had previously prevented Harry from taking his family to the UK.
The children’s last visit to the UK had been during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. Meghan’s Instagram post offered a candid look into the family’s summer holiday adventures, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding their children’s privacy.
