A 79-year-old British cruise passenger passed away after being discovered unconscious on the ship’s deck. The incident occurred in Chania, located on the northwest coast of Crete. Despite immediate medical attention, the man could not be revived. The Hellenic Coast Guard confirmed that the individual was found unconscious in the morning and later succumbed to the medical emergency.
Following initial treatment at the ship’s medical clinic, the man was transported to a private medical facility in Chania by ambulance. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the passenger’s death. Chania Port Authority has ordered a post-mortem examination as part of the inquiry.
