The mother of a popular British social media influencer, accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend in Dubai, has revealed that her daughter was visibly distressed during a phone call just hours before the tragic incident.
Brooke George, a 23-year-old TikTok personality from Gravesend, Kent, is facing potential execution by firing squad after being charged with the murder of her 26-year-old partner, Bill Treeby. George claims she acted in self-defense against Treeby, citing a history of abuse during their visits to the UAE, leading to the fatal confrontation where she allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife to defend herself.
Expressing her concerns, Thereza George, Brooke’s mother, disclosed that her daughter exhibited unusual behavior the day before the incident, indicating a shift in their relationship dynamics. She described Brooke as quiet and subdued, unlike her usual cheerful self, without disclosing the underlying reason for the change.
Recalling the alarming phone conversation on the night of the incident, Thereza recounted Brooke’s extreme fear and distress, noting visible signs of physical harm, including a severely swollen eye. She emphasized her deep concern for Brooke’s well-being, highlighting her daughter’s terrified state and the urgent need for her to return home safely.
Recent revelations also uncovered Treeby’s criminal history, including convictions for unlawful wounding and common assault in 2023, further shedding light on the complex circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
Moreover, Radha Stirling, CEO of Detained in Dubai, a legal advocacy group, raised suspicions of potential exploitation and abuse, suggesting that Brooke may have been lured to Dubai under false pretenses. Stirling called for a thorough investigation into the alleged domestic abuse claims, emphasizing the importance of examining electronic evidence to uncover possible exploitation and identify other potential victims.
In response to the situation, a Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed their involvement in supporting the detained British woman and her family, as well as liaising with local authorities to address the ongoing legal proceedings.
