An 11-year-old boy was hospitalized in Blackburn after being stabbed in the back, leading to the arrest of another 11-year-old.
The incident occurred in the Fishmoor Drive area of Blackburn, Lancashire, just before 7pm on Monday, prompting the response of emergency services, including an air ambulance. The victim sustained a puncture wound to his back and was swiftly taken to the hospital for treatment, as reported by LancsLive.
The 11-year-old suspect was apprehended on suspicion of assault and has been released on bail pending further investigations. Fortunately, the victim’s injury was less severe than initially anticipated and was deemed non-life-threatening by the authorities.
A spokesperson from Lancashire Constabulary disclosed that the police were alerted to the stabbing incident and promptly responded. The injured boy, aged 11, was swiftly transported to the hospital after sustaining a single puncture wound to his back.
The spokesperson further stated, “Thankfully, his injury is not as serious as first thought and is not life-threatening. A second 11-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.”
