“12-Year-Old Boy Dies in Tragic Essex Hit-and-Run Case”

A 12-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being hit by a car driven by a teenager in Essex, as revealed in court proceedings. The 15-year-old driver, along with William Lunnon, 43, faced charges of the murder of Bobby Bloomfield at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court. Essex Police responded to the incident on Ashwells Road in Pilgrims Hatch, where Bobby sustained severe injuries and later succumbed to them despite medical efforts.

During the court session, Prosecutor Rohini Majumdar detailed that the victim and his friends were confronted by Lunnon on private property and asked to leave, leading to a chase by the defendants in a car, allegedly resulting in the fatal collision with Bobby. The teenager was reported to have physically assaulted the boy before both perpetrators left the scene. Lunnon, residing on Ashwells Road in Pilgrims Hatch, was detained in custody, while the 15-year-old was remanded to a youth detention facility.

In a heart-wrenching statement issued through Essex Police, Bobby’s family expressed their profound grief, emphasizing the irreplaceable loss they have suffered. The authorities also disclosed the arrest of two men and two women on suspicion of obstructing justice related to the incident. The defendants are scheduled to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing.
