Buium, a 20-year-old player, showcased his skills with three goals and nine assists in 45 games during the previous season with Vancouver. He joined the Canucks following a trade deal that involved former captain Quinn Hughes heading to the Minnesota Wild.
Originally picked 12th overall in the 2024 NHL draft by Minnesota, Buium boasts an impressive track record, having clinched an NCAA championship with the University of Denver in the same year. Additionally, he achieved multiple gold medals representing the United States in various international championships, including the 2023 world under-18 championship, the 2024 and 2025 world junior championships, and the 2025 world championship.
