“UK Weather Shift: Rain Alerts for 12 Regions on Monday”

The UK is set to experience a shift in weather patterns, with the Met Office issuing alerts for rain in 12 regions on Monday. Showers are expected mainly in Scotland, Northern Ireland, North East England, Yorkshire and the Humber, the East Midlands, and East Anglia.

Meteorologist Honor Criswick from the Met Office mentioned that northerly winds will bring clouds and rain to northern Scotland. Some rain is also possible along the east coast of England, while southern parts of Wales and England are likely to see brighter conditions with temperatures reaching 25-26°C.

Cloudy skies and showers are forecasted for eastern Scotland, parts of north-east England, and Northern Ireland, while the rest of the UK will experience dry conditions with sunshine and warmth due to high pressure systems blocking rain fronts.

Looking ahead to July 23 to August 1, the Met Office anticipates a mostly dry period with sunny intervals, although some cloud and occasional light rain may affect northern and northwestern areas. Towards the end of July and early August, there could be more unsettled weather with rain expected in northern regions, possibly extending to the south in a lighter, patchier form.

Forecasters suggest a return of high pressure by the end of July, bringing dry conditions, especially in the south where temperatures may rise above average. Confidence in the forecasts decreases slightly for the week starting July 28, but indications point to another dry spell with potentially warm weather in the south at the beginning of August.
