The following Thursday could see temperatures reaching 34C in eastern, central, and southern parts of England, with most areas of England and Wales exceeding 30C once more.
Similar conditions are anticipated for Friday and Saturday next week, with possible highs of 34C in western regions and the south-east of England respectively. Temperature anomaly maps for the upcoming week show England and Wales highlighted in dark red, indicating temperatures well above the seasonal average.
The GFS model suggests that 15 counties in England could experience temperatures of 34C or higher next week. The Met Office forecasts that temperatures will remain above average, although extreme heat is not expected. There is a likelihood of thundery conditions in southern regions.
Looking ahead to mid-August, the Met Office suggests that high pressure may dominate northern parts of the UK, while lower pressure could affect southern areas.
