“Twin Toddler Tragedy: Neglect Charges in France”

A tragic incident has left a community in dismay after one child was airlifted to a hospital, and twin girls, aged just 15 months, were discovered deceased at the same residence. The parents of the children have been accused of neglect leading to the death of a minor under 15 years old. The twin sisters were found lifeless in their bed in Beuvrages, near Valenciennes (Nord), France, on Monday afternoon.

The parents, aged 32 and 35, were formally charged on July 1, as reported by RTL. A post-mortem examination revealed that the twins passed away due to dehydration and were underweight at the time of their demise. Their four other siblings, aged three to six, who also lived in the same house, were found to be dehydrated, with one in critical condition and airlifted to the hospital.

The parents reside in social housing managed by Société immobilière du Grand Hainaut (SIGH) and alerted emergency services upon finding the twins unresponsive. They are currently in custody following their formal charges by the Valenciennes prosecutor’s office. The surviving siblings have been placed under the care of Child Welfare Services.

According to LeParisien, the family was not under the supervision of a juvenile court judge, and no prior reports had been made. The mayor of Beuvrages disclosed that the family had recently moved to the area just two months before the tragic incident.
