President Donald Trump issued a warning to Judge Richard Leon regarding his opposition to the construction of a proposed “drone empire” atop the planned $400 million White House ballroom. The project has faced obstacles in Congress, leading to tensions between Trump and the judge.
In a recent post on Truth Social discussing the DronePort initiative, Trump cautioned Judge Leon against impeding “America’s Security,” stating that any negative consequences would be attributed to the judge. This comes after Judge Leon stopped the above-ground construction of the White House ballroom, insisting that congressional approval is necessary and highlighting concerns about potential circumvention of court orders under the guise of national security needs.
Reiterating the importance of the project, Trump emphasized the advanced capabilities of the proposed DronePort, describing it as a crucial asset for safeguarding Washington, D.C., and asserting the inadequacy of traditional defense methods in the face of modern weaponry.
Trump also criticized an unidentified female litigant challenging the project, branding her as excessively litigious and lacking standing while demanding an immediate dismissal of the case.
Recently, Trump spoke to the press at the ballroom construction site, touting the forthcoming “greatest drone empire” that would enhance Washington’s security measures.
Earlier in March, Judge Leon temporarily halted construction following a lawsuit by the National Trust for Historic Preservation against the White House project.
