Former US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran regarding any potential assassination plot against him, stating that the US military is prepared to “completely devastate and obliterate all regions of Iran” in response.
The ongoing tensions between the US and Iran have escalated once more, with Trump announcing the end of the ceasefire between the two nations. This declaration was followed by new strikes targeting Tehran this week.
Amidst these developments, Iranian demonstrators have openly called for Trump’s assassination, displaying banners and signs at the funeral of Iran’s late supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed earlier this year in joint US-Israeli strikes.
Reports indicate that Iran has been actively seeking the assassination of the President since 2020, following Trump’s authorization of the strike that killed Iranian military officer Qasem Soleimani.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump addressed the threat, revealing that a significant number of missiles are prepared to target Iran in response to any assassination attempt. He emphasized the readiness of the US military to carry out extensive strikes on Iran if necessary.
Last week, Israeli intelligence shared information with the US about a potential plot to target Trump, which the President downplayed, stating that he has been a long-standing target for Iran. Trump indicated that he has given instructions for a severe response should any assassination plot succeed.
Following missile attacks by Iran on oil and gas vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump suspended the ceasefire agreement and authorized strikes on numerous Iranian targets. In response to security concerns, Trump reportedly changed planes after attending the NATO summit in Turkey.
Reflecting on the situation, Trump acknowledged the constant leadership changes in Iran and expressed awareness of being a prime target for the country. He underscored the seriousness of the threats against him and the need for heightened security measures.
