Minneapolis experienced another night of turmoil following an incident where an ICE agent shot an individual shortly after the tragic death of Renee Good. The federal officer fired at a man during a car chase to apprehend an individual described as an “illegal alien from Venezuela” by Homeland Security. According to reports, the man being pursued crashed into a vehicle and attempted to flee on foot before two individuals from a nearby apartment intervened. The DHS claimed that the officer felt threatened and shot one of the individuals in the leg.
Authorities confirmed that the injured man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the ICE agent also received medical treatment for his injuries. The shooting is under investigation by the FBI, with Minneapolis Police chief Brian O’Hara and Mayor Jacob Frey criticizing ICE for causing disruption in Minnesota.
