A young boy tragically lost his life at a popular Scottish beauty spot, and his identity has been revealed for the first time as touching tributes pour in for the beloved teenager.

Emergency services swiftly responded to Bracklinn Falls near Callander in Perthshire on Thursday, May 28th, after concerns were raised about an individual around 6.45 pm.

Upon their arrival, the authorities recovered the body of a 16-year-old boy from the water, later identified as Charlie Noble.

The police have stated that his passing is not considered suspicious, and a formal report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal following the incident at the waterfalls on the Keltie Water near Callander in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

Following the heartbreaking news of his demise, an outpouring of tributes flooded social media from those who knew him. Charlie’s father, Tam Noble, changed his profile picture to a cherished photo of his son shortly after the incident.

Close friends and family offered condolences on social media, with heartfelt messages expressing sympathy and support for the grieving family.

The unfortunate incident marks the 12th water-related fatality in the UK during the recent hot weather spell, with temperatures soaring to around 24C in Scotland on that particular Thursday.

Tragic deaths have been reported in various regions, including South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Cornwall, Hampshire, Warwickshire, Cheshire, Pembrokeshire, Lincolnshire, and Lancashire. The most recent incident involved 14-year-old Baltazar L’Quy, who was rescued from the River Thames on Wednesday.

Authorities have confirmed the details of the incident, stating that Charlie Noble tragically lost his life after encountering difficulties in the water near Callander. The police and emergency services were alerted to the situation at Bracklinn Falls on the evening of May 28, 2026. His death is considered non-suspicious, and an official report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.
