A tragic incident occurred at the Donegal International Rally in Ireland, resulting in the death of a teenager and hospitalization of two others. The event, happening near the Northern Ireland border, saw the young boy being fatally injured and subsequently passing away at Letterkenny University Hospital.
Authorities from An Garda Siochana are investigating the sudden demise of the teenager following an accident involving a car during the rally. Emergency services responded to the scene at Trentagh, near Kilmacrennan, where the spectators were injured. The two other individuals are currently receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
In light of the unfortunate event, the rally organizers have decided to cancel the remainder of the event. They are cooperating with the police to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Both Motorsport Ireland and Donegal Motor Club expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased and urged the public not to share any footage related to the accident circulating on social media.
