“Reform UK’s Zia Yusuf Raises Concerns in DC Speech”

Upon my recent trip to Washington DC, I was initially relieved that I wouldn’t have to closely follow the Makerfield by-election unlike my colleagues. However, my contentment was short-lived as I discovered that Reform UK’s Home Affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf had already arrived in America’s capital and was delivering a perplexing speech at The Heritage Foundation that evening, raising concerns about foreign political interference.

Yusuf expressed worries about the influence of foreign and dark money, warning about the efforts to incite conflicts similar to those between ICE and protesters. Interestingly, his remarks did not touch upon his party leader, Nigel Farage, who is currently facing scrutiny for failing to disclose a £5 million gift from a Thai-based businessman and was criticized for his response to the Henry Nowak murder.

It was reported that Yusuf had engaged with several Trump-aligned Senators and Members of Congress on Capitol Hill earlier in the day, leaving room for speculation on the nature of the discussions they had.
