“Swedish Man Sentenced for Sex Trafficking Wife”

A man from Sweden, aged 61, has been sentenced to four years and five months in prison for forcing his wife to engage in sexual activities with over 120 men. The individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, was found guilty of various crimes, including aggravated pimping, attempted rape, assault, and making unlawful threats after a trial held in the Angermanland region in northern Sweden.

During the legal proceedings, it was revealed that the man manipulated his wife by giving her drugs, isolating her at their secluded farm in Kramfors, and taking advantage of her limited social connections. Additionally, he installed surveillance cameras on the property to record sexual encounters and threatened her with violence, including death, burning, and mutilation of her fingers.

Apart from the main culprit, 29 individuals faced charges for purchasing sexual services. Of these, 28 were convicted of a total of 56 offenses related to this, and two were sentenced to imprisonment, as confirmed by the court.

According to prosecutors, the men traveled from various parts of the country to the farm to engage in sexual activities with the victim in 2022. Her suffering persisted until she reported her husband to the authorities in October 2025, leading to his arrest and subsequent detention.

The case has drawn parallels to the notorious Dominique Pelicot case in France, where a similar scenario unfolded involving his then-wife, Gisele, over a prolonged period. Despite the court acquitting the defendant of multiple rape charges and attempted rape allegations, it was acknowledged that the man coerced his wife into performing sexual acts on herself, broadcasting them online, and facilitating encounters with additional sex buyers.

The accused has maintained his innocence, contending that he had arranged consensual encounters. In Sweden, the purchase and solicitation of sexual services are illegal, while the selling of sex by sex workers is not criminalized, as they are recognized as exploited victims.
