“Survivors Demand Full Probe into Al Fayed Trafficking Allegations”

Billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed is being urged by survivors to undergo a thorough investigation into allegations of trafficking. Victims of the former Harrods boss are pushing for Scotland Yard to expand its probe into abuse claims spanning from 1977 to 2014. They are advocating for the establishment of a National Crime Agency unit to address over 400 accusations of rape, sexual assault, human trafficking, false imprisonment, drugging, physical violence, and forced abortions.

The Justice for Harrods Survivors group’s lawyers have disclosed that 421 individuals have reported incidents of abuse at locations such as Harrods, the Ritz Hotel Paris, Fulham FC, and other properties owned by Al Fayed. The Metropolitan Police are currently investigating 155 victims who have directly reached out, including 21 who came forward prior to Al Fayed’s passing in 2023 at the age of 94.

Operation Cornpoppy, the ongoing investigation, is scrutinizing potential accomplices or facilitators of Al Fayed’s offenses. Despite 18 months passing since its inception, only four individuals have been interrogated. A spokesperson from the Met Police emphasized the commitment to ensuring that anyone involved in Al Fayed’s criminal activities faces justice.

Survivors affiliated with No One Above, a group founded by Al Fayed abuse victims, are calling for a broader investigation scope with a focus on trafficking. They are advocating for the establishment of a joint investigation team (JIT) led by the National Crime Agency to work alongside the Met. This collaborative approach aims to uncover the international extent of the trafficking network and address concerns regarding the Met’s handling of the case.

Justine, a former Harrods employee and survivor, shared her harrowing experience of being trafficked and abused by Al Fayed. She highlighted the systematic pattern of abuse orchestrated by Al Fayed and his associates, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive trafficking investigation to unveil the network’s complexity.

The survivors stress the necessity of holding all involved parties accountable and ensuring transparency in the investigative process. They are pushing for a thorough examination of financial transactions, medical assessments, security threats, and the overall operation of the trafficking ring. The survivors believe that a trafficking investigation is essential in revealing the true scale of the network and bringing justice to all victims.
