“Surprise Muskox Encounter Amazes Boating Couple”

Sabrina and Junior Hunt were surprised during their boating trip to their cabin on Shabougamou Lake in Labrador West when they came across a muskox, initially mistaken for a pile of wood. The couple observed the muskox moving along the shoreline, capturing the moment on video as they approached closer.

Sabrina described the muskox as large and black, with its fur swaying gracefully like a magical grass skirt. Muskox, typically found in Arctic tundra regions, have been sporadically seen in Labrador, with sightings mostly originating from northern Quebec herds.

After reporting their sighting to the Department of Forestry, Agriculture, and Lands, the Hunts received a surprised reaction due to the rarity of muskox sightings in Labrador West. The Department has yet to provide a comment on the matter.

This unique encounter with the muskox in Labrador West has garnered attention for its unusual presence in the area.
