Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that they would increase strikes on targets in Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine in response to recent statements made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The ministry stated that Russian forces would escalate attacks on military installations, defense industry sites, and associated infrastructure in Kyiv and various regions of Ukraine.
In an interview with Reuters, Zelenskyy mentioned that Ukraine would heighten attacks on Russian oil refineries in retaliation to Moscow’s new airstrike policy aimed at pressuring residents to evacuate Kyiv and other urban areas. However, Zelenskyy clarified that civilians would not be targeted in these actions.
Meanwhile, authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar region reported a fire at an industrial site in the Temryuk district caused by debris from a drone strike. Three individuals sustained injuries and were receiving medical attention, while emergency response teams were on-site managing the situation.
