At the age of 13, Kerr experimented with various events at the main Games venue, engaging in shot put and high jump activities. In July 2011, almost 15 years before his upcoming Commonwealth Mile run, Kerr achieved notable records as a 13-year-old, running 4m 30.91.
Having honed his skills at tracks across Scotland, Kerr, a strong contender for a gold medal at Glasgow 2026, is familiar with the Scotstoun Stadium where the Athletics and Para Athletics events will take place.
