“Putney Pusher Suspect Re-Arrested for Drug Possession”

A wealthy banker who was previously detained in connection with the “Putney Pusher” incident is back in police custody after being re-arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs. The incident, which took place in May 2017, involved a 33-year-old woman being pushed in front of a bus on Putney Bridge in south-west London.

The 44-year-old suspect, who resides in a £1.4m home in west London, was initially held on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm following CCTV footage showing a jogger shoving the woman into the road. Metropolitan Police have confirmed the man’s re-arrest but disclosed that he has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated that the man was arrested for the second time on June 15, 2020, in connection with the incident on Putney Bridge. In addition to the initial charge, he was also arrested for the alleged possession of class-A and class-B drugs.

Reports indicate that the suspect has a background in the Armed Forces, and his recent arrest was prompted by new information that emerged in the past few months. Over 50 individuals have been interviewed in relation to the case, with three of them previously arrested and subsequently released without charges. The investigation was closed in 2018.

CCTV footage from the bus involved in the incident was released by the authorities to aid in identifying the suspect. The bus driver managed to avoid hitting the pedestrian at the last moment, averting a potentially tragic outcome. The victim suffered minor injuries, and despite her attempts to speak to the jogger after the incident, he did not respond.
