“Prince Harry Security Review Delayed Amid PM Protection Priority”

Prince Harry is facing delays in finalizing his security arrangements in the UK as authorities prioritize safeguarding nine former Prime Ministers. Originally, it was planned that a risk management board would review his security status by March this year, but the assessment has been postponed, causing a backlog.

The delay is partly due to the challenge of providing top-level security for politicians, including the ex-Prime Ministers. To manage the demand, officials have temporarily halted the process for approximately four months.

According to a source familiar with the Risk Management Board procedures, there are concerns about the temporary pause. They stated that the Home Office should allocate more resources to address the backlog rather than suspending the assessments, as the safety of high-profile individuals is crucial.

There are worries that protective security in the UK has been under-resourced for years, leading to trained protection officers being reassigned to other duties. This situation raises questions about the government’s commitment to safeguarding public figures and ensuring adequate protective measures.

After stepping back from his royal duties, Prince Harry was informed that he would no longer receive automatic police security during visits to the UK. He is now required to provide advance notice before each trip, and his security level will be assessed accordingly.

Despite his status, Prince Harry has not been granted full security protection on his returns to the UK. Additionally, he previously lost a legal battle against the Home Office in May last year.
