A powerful tornado struck the village of Pomas in southern France, causing significant damage to over 300 homes and injuring numerous individuals. Fortunately, no missing persons have been reported following the disaster. As of Tuesday morning, approximately 1,400 households in the area were still without electricity, according to the Aude prefecture.
Images captured from a social media video and verified by Reuters show the tornado swirling above Verzeille, located a few kilometers east of Pomas, late Monday. The destructive path of the tornado resulted in shattered windows in many of the affected homes.
In Preixan, situated a few kilometers north of Pomas, another image obtained from social media and verified by Reuters depicts the tornado moving through the area.

A man is pictured amidst the rubble of a damaged house, while debris litters the floor of the Saint Julien et Sainte Basilisse church following the collapse of its roof.
