Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with following an alleged assault on a woman on the tube. The incident occurred as the woman was traveling alone on a Bakerloo Line train between Waterloo and Lambeth North around 11:40 pm on July 11.
According to the British Transport Police, the man approached the woman, exposed himself, dragged her to the floor, and attempted to assault her. The woman managed to fight back and escape at Lambeth North station, where she immediately sought help from station staff.
The man involved in the incident stayed on the tube and disembarked at Elephant and Castle Underground station. Detectives have shared CCTV images of the man in question as they believe he may have valuable information to aid their investigation. The man has not been accused of any crime.
Authorities are investigating the man’s movements, suspecting he was at Oxford Circus Underground station before the incident and at Piccadilly Circus Underground station afterward. Detective Sergeant Krishan Appannah of the BTP stated that their priority is supporting the victim and urged the public to help identify the individual in the CCTV footage.
Anyone recognizing the man is encouraged to text his name to 61016, quoting reference 948 of July 11. The police believe he may possess crucial information for their inquiry.
