P&O Cruises has instructed passengers to always keep a vital item with them to prevent potential travel delays or issues. According to P&O Cruises’ FAQ, guests do not need cash on board but are advised to carry their cruise card at all times, as it serves multiple purposes beyond payment.
The cruise line clarifies that all on-board expenses are conducted through the cruise card, which also acts as the key to accommodation, identification for boarding and disembarking, and the payment method for all on-board transactions. On embarkation, on-board spending money is loaded onto the card, and any additional purchases can be settled at Reception upon departure.
P&O Cruises, which travels to over 230 destinations, emphasizes that all on-board transactions are in Great British pounds and follows a cashless system. The company ensures that its ships operate in a cash-free environment, with all purchases requiring the use of the cruise card, eliminating the need for cash during the cruise.
On-board spending money can be utilized for various purposes, while the cruise card cannot be used for certain expenses. The final bill is delivered to the passenger’s cabin on the last day, with the balance automatically deducted from the registered payment card during check-in.
Additionally, gratuities are not necessary as P&O Cruises guarantees excellent service and a memorable vacation experience. The fleet’s largest vessels, Arvia and Iona, boast impressive dimensions, accommodating up to 5,200 guests and 1,800 crew members. In contrast, the smallest ship, Aurora, can host around 1,874 passengers and 850 crew members across its nine decks.
