New witnesses crucial in UK influencer murder case

New reports suggest that new witnesses may hold crucial evidence in a murder case involving a UK influencer. 23-year-old Brooke George, a resident of Gravesend in Kent, remains detained in Dubai on murder charges following the death of 26-year-old William Treeby in an apartment in the luxury Gulf city. If found guilty, Brooke could face the severe penalty of death by firing squad.

Brooke claims she acted in self-defense after allegedly being assaulted. Campaign group Detained in Dubai has now provided pertinent information and intelligence to authorities in the UK and the UAE. Five individuals, including Brooke, William, two of his friends, and a maid, were present at the apartment on the night of the fatal incident as per The Sun reports.

It is believed that one of William’s friends made calls to individuals in Britain shortly after the incident. Activists believe that these calls and data stored on the men’s phones could help establish a timeline of events, identify additional witnesses, and safeguard evidence before it is compromised.

William was scheduled to stand trial at Maidstone Crown Court for conspiracy to supply cocaine as part of an investigation by Kent Police. He was among seven defendants, including one of his flatmates in Dubai, involved in the case. Court records reveal William had a prior conviction for unlawful wounding and common assault, resulting in a suspended prison sentence.

Detained in Dubai’s CEO, Radha Stirling, stated that the organization had shared intelligence with relevant UK and UAE authorities to ensure all pertinent information is thoroughly examined. Stirling emphasized the need for a comprehensive and impartial investigation given the seriousness of the case and the potential consequences for Brooke.

Campaigners advocate for interviews with anyone in the UK who received calls from the apartment after William’s demise and urge prompt preservation of mobile phone evidence to prevent data loss or deletion. Stirling stressed the critical importance of a thorough investigation to safeguard justice and prevent overlooking crucial lines of inquiry when a person’s life is at risk.
