A mother who tragically lost her life when the vehicle she was traveling in veered off a cliff in Spain will be laid to rest this Friday.
Amy McCullagh, a mother of three from County Westmeath, Ireland, was on vacation when the fatal crash occurred. The accident also claimed the lives of Michaela Newcombe and Mark McCullagh, Amy’s brother-in-law.
Amy’s husband, Ian McCullagh, 35, survived the crash but sustained severe injuries, remaining in critical condition in a Spanish hospital. The group was holidaying in Malaga when their car plunged 100 feet into a ravine off the A7 motorway in the early hours of June 28.
A funeral service for Amy will take place at the Church of the Nativity in Ballynacargy, with burial at Sonna Cemetery. She is survived by her two daughters and a son, with the family requesting donations to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust in her honor.
Tributes poured in for Michaela Newcombe, a beloved head receptionist at a beauty school in Mullingar, describing her as a kind-hearted and vibrant individual who will be deeply missed.
The community, represented by Sinn Féin councillor Julie McCourt, expressed profound shock and extended heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragic loss, emphasizing the impact on the entire town and surrounding areas.
