A mother has gone missing while swimming on a picturesque Caribbean island, sparking a search effort. Elizabeth Waddell, 44, vanished while staying at Grand Anse, a well-known tourist spot in St. George, Grenada. Accompanied by a friend, she went for a swim but did not return.
Concern arose when her friend realized Elizabeth was missing and without her phone. Amanda Romano-Harmon, another close friend, narrated the events, mentioning that Elizabeth had her swimsuit on and was outside their Airbnb by the pool. Her friend, engrossed in an online course, noticed Elizabeth missing and found her towel on the pier, suspecting she went for a swim.
A report for a missing person has been lodged, and Elizabeth’s husband, Cailen, urged anyone with information to come forward. He took to social media, seeking help and expressing optimism for Elizabeth’s safe return. Cailen and their daughter have arrived in Grenada to aid in the search, appreciating the efforts of the local police in the ongoing investigation.
Amanda shared that Cailen and their daughter have split up to cover more ground in the search. The Royal Grenada Police force is coordinating with fishermen, boat operators, and coastal residents in the southern region to assist in locating Elizabeth and ensuring her safe return.
