Montreal Canadiens’ captain, Nick Suzuki, will be ending his impressive iron man streak after sustaining an upper-body injury. With 546 NHL games under his belt, Suzuki will be out of action for an estimated two to four weeks, as confirmed by the team on Thursday. This injury marks the first time Suzuki will miss a game throughout his NHL career.
Suzuki’s career hit a high note in the previous season when he tallied 101 points in 2025-26 and secured the prestigious Selke Trophy for his outstanding defensive skills. Adding to his accolades, Suzuki contributed to Team Canada’s silver medal win at the 2026 Olympics.
Despite his injury setback, Suzuki kicked off the current season impressively, recording 12 points in just nine games played. The Canadiens, positioned sixth in the Atlantic Division, are gearing up for a challenging four-game road trip against Western Conference rivals, commencing in Chicago on Friday.
