“Missing Giraffe Gracie Found Safe in Texas Rescue Mission”

A giraffe that went missing two weeks ago has been found after helicopters were used in the search operation. The 10ft-tall giraffe, named Gracie, had escaped from her enclosure at Cedar Hollow Ranch in Texas, prompting a search effort by owner Vic Jones, who offered a reward for her safe return.

Following an extensive search, Gracie was located in good health in the Texas Hill Country, about four miles south of her home. Vic reported that she was seen near a pond and a stream, with abundant vegetation for grazing. Plans are now underway to safely transport her back to the ranch.

The rescue mission is complex and involves sedating Gracie and using a special giraffe trailer for transportation. The search was initiated after Gracie ventured into rugged terrain inaccessible by car, ultimately leading her to a remote private property.

While the local community was alerted to keep an eye out for the missing giraffe, the vast and isolated area makes it unlikely for Gracie to encounter people. Vic expressed relief at finding Gracie unharmed, as the region is known for its variety of exotic captive animals.

Gracie’s escape route was through an unfenced rocky area that other giraffes had not explored previously. She will now spend time in the giraffe enclosure at the ranch while Vic reinforces the area she escaped from with additional fencing.
