An illicit 7,500-ton waste deposit has been discovered near a former Premier League soccer arena. Startling aerial photos reveal a mix of domestic and business trash scattered along a 50-meter stretch of land in Bradford. The decaying heap is situated opposite Valley Parade, the home stadium of League One club Bradford City. Local residents raised the alarm two weeks ago after detecting a putrid odor emanating from the area amid the recent heatwave.
The Environment Agency has initiated a probe into the waste site and is actively seeking the individuals accountable for it. The rear section of an articulated truck and corroding containers are visible at the location adjacent to Midland Road in Manningham.
A resident, opting for anonymity, disclosed witnessing “suspicious” trucks entering the premises and discarding waste there. They remarked, “This problem emerged during the recent heatwave when the vicinity was engulfed by a foul smell of decomposing food and waste. We couldn’t ventilate our homes due to the noxious stench.”
Local council members condemned the situation, labeling it as utterly unacceptable and a blatant disrespect for the community and the environment. They emphasized, “We will not condone anyone treating our neighborhood as a dumping site. Illegal waste disposal, regardless of its nature or scale, has no room in Manningham.”
