“Man Sentenced to 6 Years for Assault on 10-Year-Old Girl”

A man who sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl in a Birmingham pub was swiftly apprehended and sentenced to six years and five months in prison. Sean Sewell, a 46-year-old resident of Newtown, was arrested approximately 20 minutes after the victim reported the incident on April 8. Police identified him as the perpetrator and took him into custody for questioning.

Further investigation connected Sewell to a separate incident on a bus in Birmingham from the previous October, where a woman reported indecent exposure by a man. Sewell faced charges for both offenses and admitted guilt. He will also be registered as a sex offender for life.

West Midlands Police expressed satisfaction with Sewell’s conviction, highlighting their commitment to addressing violence against women and girls in the region. The authorities swiftly responded to the assault report and conducted a thorough investigation leading to Sewell’s arrest and subsequent sentencing.
