Man Mistakenly Reported Stabbed in Manchester Dog Attack

A man sustained severe injuries in a dog attack in Greater Manchester, which was initially mistaken for a stabbing by authorities. Greater Manchester Police responded to a reported stabbing on Ormskirk Road, prompting an air ambulance to land in a nearby Aldi car park. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the incident actually involved a dog attack on Albert Street in the Newtown area, as reported by Manchester Evening News. The victim, a man in his 30s, was hospitalized with serious injuries but is now in stable condition.

Four individuals were arrested on suspicion of owning a dangerous and uncontrollable dog in connection with the incident, including three men and one woman. Subsequently, all four were released on bail, while the dog was euthanized. A police spokesperson clarified that the event, initially reported as a stabbing, was indeed a dog attack that inflicted serious injuries on the victim. The suspects have been interviewed and bailed, with ongoing investigations indicating that the incident was not intentional. The police assured the public that there is no broader threat related to this occurrence.
