“Man Convicted of Brutal Murder: Wife Stabbed 78 Times”

A man has been found guilty of murdering his wife after stabbing her 78 times and then informing the police that he had gotten rid of her. Robert Alexander, aged 66, was driven by financial motives when he carried out the brutal killing of nurse Christina Alexander in their residence in Dosthill, Tamworth, back in June 2025.

The court proceedings revealed that Mrs. Alexander, 60, sustained severe injuries from the multiple stab wounds inflicted on her face, neck, torso, arms, and legs. Testimony presented at Stafford Crown Court indicated that the accused had a history of aggressive and threatening behavior towards his wife, although he attempted to justify his actions as self-defense during the trial.

Following the murder, Alexander changed his attire, took out the trash, spent time with his dogs, and then calmly dialed 999 to report the killing to the authorities. He admitted to the police that the motive behind the murder revolved around financial disputes and control issues within the marriage.

Despite claiming self-defense and citing mental health conditions such as depression and autism to mitigate his guilt, medical experts confirmed that Alexander’s mental state showed no significant abnormalities. The prosecution emphasized that the victim, Mrs. Alexander, had been taking steps to leave the relationship due to financial dependence on her husband and fear of violence.

The court also heard about prior instances of domestic violence involving the couple, including a battery conviction against Alexander in 2020 and a domestic violence protection order issued in 2021. Despite Mrs. Alexander’s efforts to seek independence and escape the abusive relationship, the tragic events that unfolded on June 23, 2025, resulted in her untimely death at the hands of her husband.

The Crown Prosecution Service expressed satisfaction with the jury’s rejection of Alexander’s justifications and highlighted the importance of holding individuals accountable for controlling and abusive behavior. The sentencing for Alexander is pending and will be determined at a later date.
