Kristi Miller Named Interim Chair of Hockey Canada

Kristi Miller has been appointed as the interim chair of the board of directors for Hockey Canada, as announced by the governing body on Wednesday. Miller has served on the board since November 18, 2023, and was part of the new appointees who took over from a transition board put in place during the Hockey Canada sexual assault scandal.

The previous Hockey Canada board, including president and CEO Scott Smith, resigned on October 11, 2022, following criticism of the organization’s response to sexual assault allegations involving five members of Canada’s 2018 world junior team.

In November, Miller was re-elected as a director for a three-year term. She hails from Vancouver and is the president of financial services company RTB Enterprises Inc. Miller also previously chaired Hockey Canada’s audit and finance committee.

A new board chair will be elected by Hockey Canada to succeed Jonathan Goldbloom, who resigned on Monday, at the annual meeting scheduled for December 5 in Toronto.
