Gabriela Dabrowski Wins 25th Doubles Title at China Open

Gabriela Dabrowski from Ottawa clinched her 25th tour-level doubles title on Sunday at the WTA 1000 China Open in Beijing, partnering with Brazil’s Luisa Stefani for a commanding win.

The duo, seeded second, overpowered the top-seeded pair of Katerina Siniakova and Zhang Shuai with a score of 6-1, 6-2 in just under an hour to secure the championship.

Reflecting on their performance, Dabrowski expressed satisfaction, stating, “Today’s display was a fantastic culmination of our entire week, which was phenomenal. We maintained a high level of play, pushed by the reputation and past encounters with our opponents,” as highlighted in a press conference by Tennis Canada.

The triumph at the China Open marks Dabrowski’s fifth tour-level title this year, following her successes in Dubai, Strasbourg, Eastbourne, and São Paulo.

The partnership of Dabrowski and Stefani has now secured seven titles together, with a notable appearance in the Wimbledon final earlier this year, where they finished as runners-up.

Having already secured a spot in the year-end WTA Finals in Indian Wells, Dabrowski will mark her eighth participation in the esteemed season-ending tournament.
