An online fitness influencer and ‘looksmaxxer’ tragically passed away after reportedly injecting liquid gold in the belief it would grant him extraordinary abilities. Connor Michael Murphy, aged 32, met his demise on July 8 at a luxury rental residence in Banh Phil, Thailand, where police responded to reports of disturbances.
Authorities described encountering Connor in a frenzied state, engaging in erratic behavior and a naked outburst. Thai officials stated that Connor entered a lake in an attempt to evade law enforcement, leading to the tragic events that followed.
In the lead-up to his untimely death, Connor had been shifting his focus from bodybuilding content to spirituality and religion while working on a documentary. Described as a biohacker by friends, Connor had a fascination with the mystical properties of gold and its supposed cognitive benefits.
Allegedly influenced by a debunked study suggesting enhanced intelligence from gold consumption, Connor embarked on self-experimentation by injecting gold. Witnesses noted his descent into erratic behavior, marked by signs of gold poisoning and peculiar actions such as painting with gold.
