Father Seeks Heroes Who Tried to Save Son

A distressed father is appealing to the individuals who attempted to rescue his teenage son from drowning to come forward. Alan Damon Robinson is eager to express his gratitude to the unknown heroes for their brave effort in trying to save his son, identified as Reco Puttock. Tragically, the 13-year-old boy lost his life after encountering difficulties at Leadbeater Dam near Halifax, West Yorkshire, during the recent heatwave.

Mr. Robinson, believed to be from Bradford, took to Facebook, urging the two individuals to reach out to him so he could personally thank them for their courageous act. Reco was among several young people who tragically perished in water-related incidents over the weekend, as temperatures soared above 38C. These events prompted the RNLI to issue a stark warning to young people regarding water safety.

Flowers and heartfelt messages adorn the area near Leadbeater Dam in memory of Reco, with tributes expressing deep sorrow and remembrance for the young life lost. Reco’s mother fondly remembered him as a loving brother to his three sisters, particularly close to his elder sister. She shared her profound grief, recounting her emotional turmoil since the tragic incident unfolded.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed the incident and the subsequent recovery of the boy’s body from the water. Investigations are ongoing, though no foul play is suspected in the tragic event. Another fatality during the heatwave occurred when a man in his 60s lost his life while attempting to rescue family members in distress at a beach in Padstow, Cornwall.
