A determined father who pledged to set a new world record following a significant victory on the ITV show The 1% Club has fulfilled his promise. Nathan Davies is now a Guinness World Records holder after achieving his goal of consuming the most fish fingers in one minute, devouring a total of 15 within the time limit.
Nathan, a 32-year-old project manager and father of two, publicly announced his aspiration during his appearance on ITV’s The 1% Club, where he walked away with a prize of £98,000. Inspired by his success on the show, he aimed for a Guinness World Records title, opting for the fish finger challenge due to its familiarity in his household with his young sons.
Prior to the official attempt, Nathan tested his ability by consuming four fish fingers quickly, confirming that he was up for the challenge. Subsequently, he successfully completed the record-breaking feat by eating 15 fish fingers in just one minute.
Despite the surreal feeling of securing a place in the Guinness World Records, Nathan expressed mixed emotions about the achievement, stating his pride in holding a world record but joking about its fish finger association. He believes he could have eaten more if the fish fingers had cooled down further before the attempt.
Nathan’s accomplishment follows his significant cash prize win on The 1% Club, where he initially expressed his desire to break a world record. With his latest success, he can now add a Guinness World Records title to his list of achievements. While the question of pursuing another unusual record remains unanswered, Nathan humorously remarked that his wife might have a say in any future attempts.
