Five individuals lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries in a tragic explosion and fire at a defense company in South Korea, as confirmed by authorities. The incident occurred on Monday at a facility managed by Hanwha Aerospace in Daejeon, South Korea. The cause of the explosion remains undisclosed.
Hanwha Aerospace, a government-sanctioned security enterprise, operates the affected location, known for its development of large-scale propellants and surface-to-surface weapons systems.
According to local medical officer Kim Ju-yeon, one of the injured individuals is currently in critical condition. The identities of the casualties have not been released to the public yet.
