CCTV footage presented in court captured the final moments of a woman as she walked out of sight with an accused double murderer, according to testimony at the Old Bailey. Simon Levy, 40, was observed on CCTV entering a B&M car park in High Road, Tottenham, with Sheryl Wilkins, 39, on August 24 the previous year.
Earlier recordings showed the alleged killer crossing paths with Ms. Wilkins as he disembarked a 149 bus and trailed her past a bus stop. The footage depicted Ms. Wilkins in a crop top and the defendant with his hood up moments before they halted outside the B&M car park.
Ms. Wilkins vanished from view shortly before 1 am, allegedly meeting her demise at the hands of Levy in a murder allegedly motivated by sexual intentions, which he denies. Approximately 45 minutes later, Levy was captured adjusting his attire, wearing sunglasses due to partial sight, before heading back to his residence on Beaufoy Road by 2 am.
During and after the suspected time of the murder, various vehicles were seen maneuvering in the car park, and an unidentified individual was observed wandering near the wall, but Ms. Wilkins remained concealed. The following morning around 6:30 am, police officers discovered her at the scene, with the jury shown distressing footage of the grim discovery.
Witness accounts revealed Boray Is driving a grey BMW in the car park at 1:45 am, noticing a male figure near the wall. Mr. Is described the individual briefly seen in his headlights as wearing a hoodie and jeans, with partial visibility of his face and buttocks, indicating a casual demeanor.
Another witness, Qathar Ali, was recorded driving a Mercedes around the car park at 1:37 am and spotted a black man kneeling and then lying down. The court heard that this area was known for illicit activities, but Mr. Ali refrained from intervening.
Levy faces allegations of murdering both Ms. Wilkins and another woman, Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, under similar circumstances five months apart. Prosecutors assert that Levy lured the victims with payment for sexual services before perpetrating the crimes, including a rape case from the previous year and multiple sexual assault convictions.
The trial at the Old Bailey is ongoing, with officers initially mistaking Ms. Wilkins’ body for the victim of a prior assault allegedly behind the same wall where she was discovered.
