Canada Maintains Ninth Rank in FIFA Women’s Rankings

Canada maintained their ninth position in the most recent FIFA women’s soccer world rankings that were unveiled on Tuesday. Despite suffering a 4-3 defeat against Denmark on October 12 in Toronto and a 1-1 draw with the Danes three days prior in Montreal, the Canadian team held onto their spot.

Under the leadership of head coach Casey Stoney since January 2025, Canada has not secured a victory against a top-15 opponent. Denmark, on the other hand, moved up two positions to claim the 10th spot, marking their return to the top 10 for the first time since August 2010.

Spain solidified its position as the top-ranked team following a win and a draw against the second-ranked United States, while Germany retained third place. Looking ahead, Canada is set to face Panama on November 28 in the CONCACAF W Championship, a tournament that acts as a qualifier for both the 2027 World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
