Scot James, 34, was pronounced brain dead on July 11 in Turkey and later died on Sunday at The Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Wales after being airlifted back to the UK. Scot, a member of Maesteg Celtic RFC, was remembered as a caring father, son, and partner in social media tributes. A fundraising effort was initiated to support the family during their extended stay in Turkey. The family stayed by Scot’s side during his time on life support until his passing. The Foreign Office is collaborating with local authorities in response to the incident. Scot’s former rugby club expressed deep sorrow over his death, highlighting his exceptional sportsmanship and camaraderie. Requests for comments have been made to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Turkish Police Foreign Relations Office.
