The family of a British rugby player has honored him following his recent passing. Scot James tragically passed away after an alleged assault while on a family vacation in Turkey resulted in him being declared brain dead. The 34-year-old from Maesteg lost his life at The Royal Glamorgan Hospital on Sunday, July 26, after being airlifted back to Wales from Turkey on Friday, July 24.
In a touching tribute, Scot’s family described him as a cherished son, grandson, brother, partner, father, uncle, and friend. They expressed their deep sorrow at his untimely death and highlighted his warm heart, sense of humor, and ability to unite people.
The family thanked everyone for their support and requested privacy as they mourn and cope with their loss. Scot’s local rugby club also paid homage to him on social media, remembering him as an exceptional player and a beloved teammate.
A spokesperson from the FCDO confirmed they are assisting the British national’s family and liaising with local authorities. The Mirror has reached out to Turkish authorities for comments.
