A major brewery has declared that a £1 million bar tab will be activated if any of three teams reach the World Cup final.
BrewDog, established in Scotland in 2007, has pledged complimentary pints to soccer enthusiasts if England, Scotland, or the United States advance to the final match. This promotion will kick off on July 20, the day following the final.
Individuals sporting an England, Scotland, or USA team jersey are eligible to receive up to two free pints per person at a designated BrewDog bar or pub.
The announcement coincides with the World Cup generating a “record turnout” at the brand’s bar locations, transforming them into vibrant hubs for fans.
Irwin Simon, chairman and CEO of Tilray Brands, remarked, “Great bars have always been places where fans come together to enjoy the match, share great conversations, and raise a beer or two.”
Mr. Simon expressed readiness to facilitate celebrations for fans at participating bars and brewpubs if any of the three nations make it to the final.
This offer follows Tilray Brands’ acquisition of BrewDog, an American beverage company. Earlier this year, BrewDog faced administration, resulting in numerous job losses and the closure of several bars.
Following the acquisition by Tilray in March, which included UK brewing operations, brand, and 11 pubs in a £33 million transaction, 733 jobs were retained while 484 positions were eliminated, and 38 bars shut down.
The promotion is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the £1 million tab is exhausted at eligible venues in England, Scotland, Ireland, Las Vegas, and certain brewpubs in the US.
Participating BrewDog establishments will also host large-screen events throughout the summer featuring tennis and motor racing.
