The Toronto Blue Jays have placed pitcher Shane Bieber on the 15-day injured list due to inflammation in his right teres major muscle. This decision, made just before the team’s series against the Kansas City Royals, is retroactive to last Friday following Bieber’s strong performance against the Tampa Bay Rays. The teres major muscles play a crucial role in connecting the shoulder blades to the upper arm bones.
Bieber, who holds a 5-2 record with a 4.37 earned-run average this season, had already faced challenges earlier in the year with right elbow inflammation and forearm fatigue, keeping him sidelined for the first two months of the season. In response to this, right-hander Chad Dallas has been called up from triple-A Buffalo and added to the active roster for the upcoming game.
The Toronto Blue Jays, currently standing at 64-68, are trailing by two games for an American League wild-card position as they head into their next game.
